If you plan to visit Denver, choose one of their cozy Bed & Breakfasts instead of a traditional hotel. Bed & Breakfasts are a wonderful diversion from the norm. A stay at one of these comfortable inns will guarantee impeccable service, delicious breakfasts and personal attention to detail as well as expert city guidance.

I had the delightful experience of staying at the historical Castle Marne recently. Built in 1889, the current owners have done a wonderful job of combining family heirlooms with period antiques to create a romantic and charming inn. I chose one of their suites which offered a two person hot tub on a private balcony. It was a wonderful feature that I used nightly while gazing up at the starry Colorado sky. Their breakfast, which is included in the price of the room, was fabulous and the perfect start to a busy day. The owners are well qualified to help you determine which sights to see in and around Denver. Don't miss afternoon tea, a true luxury in this charming inn. It is no wonder that Castle Marne has been voted as one of the top B &B's in the country by numerous magazines.

Another excellent property in Denver is the Capital Hill Mansion. This opulent Victorian inn was built in 1891 offers 8 private rooms equipped with cable TV, refrigerators, hair dryers, telephones and some even include whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. This hotel is strategically located downtown and is within walking distance to the downtown business center, the bus terminal, State Capitol, Convention Center, the Performing Arts Complex, Molly Brown House and numerous restaurants, shops and museums. A hot gourmet breakfast is served daily and wine is offered in the early evening. The gracious hosts ensure fresh flowers are throughout the home and I was delighted to find they had free high speed wireless internet and a fax machine so I could keep up with business while enjoying the quiet peacefulness of this romantic inn. Onsite parking is also free.

If you are looking for historic charm and an environmentally conscious inn, you should choose the Queen Ann Bed and Breakfast. The owners have taken a great deal of attention to detail by choosing 100% organic cotton bedding, Eco-Mattresses made of recycled coils and green tea insulation, and utilizing local craftsmen and artists for furniture and artwork. The hotel serves an elegant breakfast daily often incorporating fresh ingredients from their own garden. Happy hour is served in the evening with wine and cheese. Most rooms have a whirlpool jetted tub, some offer fireplaces and private balconies. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay, you will thoroughly enjoy the Queen Ann. Free off-street parking and bicycles are also available to guests who may want to cruise through the near-by parks.
