Fort Lauderdale Airport Guide

Back a few years ago, FLL used to be a very small private field. The runways were not even paved! Now, FLL has become one of this country's fastest growing Airports. The airport recently completed a "$695 million expansion program" transforming its terminals, Garage Complex and local roadways. It's more attractive, easier to navigate and more modern.

(FLL) also offers Non-stop service to over 55 U.S. cities as well as International service to, Canada, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, Latin America, and South America.

If you have time, there is great shopping and restaurants for travelers within the terminals. Keep in mind, most of the airport's restaurants and shops are located past security checkpoints. If your travels take you internationally, a Duty Free Kiosk is located in Terminal 2 on Concourse D, Terminal 3 on Concourse F, and Terminal 4 on Concourse H.

FLL has made renting a car, easy and GREEN! The Rental Car Center (RCC) is a nine-story building designed to bring all the rental car agencies under one roof. It's a "Green Initiative" keeping the carbon footprint all in one spot, BRAVO! It's a modern as they come, self-contained and indoors!

Here is a nice touch...If you will be parking at the airport, Car Care Services are available at selected parking areas. They offer Wash, Wash/Wax, Wash/Shampoo or go all out and get a Full Detail. You can call 954-359-0200 for more details or a reservation.

Several hotels surround the airport. If you need to stay close, check out this link: This is a busy airport. It services about 62,142 passengers a day. Here is a link provided byFort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to help you make a plan!

  • Friends or relatives dropping off or picking up at the airport can also take advantage of FLL's self-parking grace period. Exit any self-park lot within 15 minutes of entering and there is no charge for parking. After 15 minutes, normal garage rates apply from the time of entry.
  • For your convenience, FLL has a Cell Phone Waiting Area. It's lighted, paved, and just seconds from the Terminal's arrival level. Best part, it's Free!
