Great hotels in Jacksonville
LEA ANN FESSENDEN
If you are heading to Jacksonville, FL in the near future check out these great hotels in the area. Whether you are traveling with children, on a business trip, visiting the Mayo Clinic or just checking out the University of North Florida (UNF), here are my top picks for cleanliness, service and quality.
The Holiday Inn on Nurseryfields Drive is a 3 star facility that won't let you down. This is a fairly new property with a very friendly staff, excellent breakfast in the mornings and a beautiful, well-kept swimming pool. This 5 story hotel does not accept pets and is completely non-smoking. It is very conveniently located to downtown, beaches, UNF and great shopping. Dine in their restaurant, Kem's or order room service if you want to stay in for an evening. Comfortable beds and a staff that makes you feel like family will make you want to book an extra night.
The Hampton Inn and Suites Jacksonville-Bartram Park is another new inn on the scene in this area. Very clean, excellent staff and well kept grounds keep visitors returning to this economical hotel. Although it is located on the highway away from the city, it is a very quick drive to downtown. The property hosts an outdoor pool and a fitness room as well as complimentary wireless Internet access, free breakfast buffet every morning and free onsite parking.
I really enjoyed my brief stay at the Jameson Inn Jacksonville. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home and the property was very clean and well kept. I like complimentary and at this hotel the internet, breakfast, newspapers, parking and lobby coffee are always free. My "Dreamium" bed was extremely comfortable and I loved relaxing by their outdoor swimming pool. There is also an onsite fitness room for those of you who prefer a little more exercise than lazing by the pool!
Built in 2009, the Hyatt Place Jacksonville is another great option for those travelers needing to stay near the Jacksonville Airport. A very clean, modern and stylish property, I was impressed by the 42 inch flat screen, hi-def televisions in every room. Few hotels offer T.V.s this large! Complimentary breakfast in the morning is not only delicious but served on china. This is an excellent hotel for business and leisure travelers alike especially if you are looking for a more upscale property. Hyatt Place is also very conveniently near some terrific restaurants at River City Marketplace, a movie theater and Walmart.
